1. Say hello to the Ss and ask them to sit down. Ask your Ss some questions to obtain information about them. Write the questions on the board. Check vocabulary with the Ss.

2. Work with the whole class on a questionnaire about personal information. Tell the Ss to propose questions about activities or actions children usualy do or like (or dislike), also about their family, etc. Example of questions: • Do you have brothers and sisters? • Are you the oldest son/daughter? • Do you have aunts and uncles, cousins, great aunts and uncles, etc? • What color is your hair? • What is your height? • Whom you don't know but would like to? • Do you exercise on a daily basis? • Do you play soccer? • Do you like ice cream? • Do you play an instrument? etc. 3. Once you have the questionnaire organize the class into pairs and make them sit one in front of the other. Have each Ss ask the questions to their partner and vice versa. Each pair must write down the answers of both Ss. The class discusses if the questions are open or closed and the Ssanalize the answers.

4. Invite some of the Ss to the front of the classto say some things they have learned about their classmates, like: • Timmy plays soccer • Jenny likes ice cream etc Say goodbye to the Ss.

2. Print three pictures from the page in the “recursos”section or another source of your choosing. It is important that you print suitable images to your Ss, and all three pictures must be similar in difficulty. Tell the Ss to take a piece of paper and draw what you are going to describe. They cannot ask any question. Check the results; compare the drawings with the original. Take some 10 minutes for the whole process. Now repeat the process, but tell the Ss that they can ask any closed questions they like. Compare the results again. Finally repeat the process but now the Ss are allowed to ask any open questions they like. Again check the results.

2. Ask the Ss if they know how to call a group of questions. Wait for some answers and then write the word “questionnaire” on the board. Ask the Ss what types of questionnaires they know. Interview Survey Study guide. Have a discussion with the Ss to decide the purpose of each type of questionnaire. Determine the characteristics of each type of questionnaire. Make a list on the board and have each Ss copy it on their notebooks.
