1. T and Ss say hello to each other. T tells the group they will start stretching by singing and dancing “Shake your Sillies Out”.

2.T chooses some verbs, nouns and adverbs and writes them in pieces of paper (the same number of pieces of paper as students in the class). T keeps them inside a box. T chooses a S togo and pick one paper from the box and write in the board a sentence using the word wrote in it. T chooses another S, who picks another paper. The S must write a sentence related to the first one, in order to write a story. T says to Ss that the story must have characters, a problem and a solution, so they must think before to write. Each S can put a personal twist on the story. Obviously, it will be a very simple story, with simple phrases, but it must be complete. When all the Ss have had an opportunity to write a sentence, T reads the text, and then makes a choral reading with the class. 4. Guided by the T the class analyses the story to determine if it is a complete story, if it has sense, if the verbs are used correctly, if the spelling and the grammar are adecuate.T and Ss modify what is needed. After this, Ss copy the story in their notebooks and illustrate it.

Note: Before the session, T should print, laminate and cut out the cards (the link is in the “recursos” section). 2. T explains Ss they are going to play a board game to practice the Simple Present tense, the personal pronouns and the adverbs of frequency. T projects the board of the game on a screen (the link is in the “recursos” section). T organizes the class in groups of 4 or 5 Ss and give each group a circle (it will be their counter). Every card has a value (1 point, 2 points, 3 points). T places the cards in a box (face down). In class Ss take turns to pick up a card and write a sentence using the verb, the form and the person indicated in the card and an adverb of frequency (the first S of the first group, the first S of the second group, the first S of the third group, the second S of the first group…). Ss have 15 seconds to start writing. If the sentence is correct, the team has the points and the S put their marker (using a piece of tape) in the correct square of the board. The first team to achieve the “Goal” will be the winner.
