Class Planning:


Objective: Students will be able to create informative cards in English about the cultural traits of English-speaking communities (accent, spelling, clothing, food, traditions, customs, among others).


Session 1 (45 minutes):



  • Introduction to the topic: Start the class with a brief discussion about the importance of cultural identity and how it shapes the characteristics of different communities.

  • Brainstorming: Engage students in a brainstorming activity by asking them to share their knowledge about English-speaking communities. Write their responses on the board.

  • Vocabulary: Introduce vocabulary related to the topic, such as accent, clothing, food, traditions, customs, etc. Provide students with a list of words and their definitions.

  • Reading activity: Give students a short reading passage about the cultural traits of a specific English-speaking community. Have them read the passage individually and then discuss it in pairs or small groups.

  • Notetaking: Instruct students to take notes on the characteristics they found most interesting or significant about the community discussed in the reading passage.

  • Class discussion: Have a class discussion where students share their findings and insights about the community's cultural traits.


Session 2 (45 minutes):



  • Review: Start the class by reviewing the previous session's discussion on the cultural traits of English-speaking communities.

  • Research activity: Divide the class into small groups and assign each group a different English-speaking community. Instruct them to conduct online research to gather information about the cultural traits of their assigned community.
