Plan de clase

Session 1: Introducing the Topic (45 minutes)

Objective: Students will understand the relationship between multiplication and division as inverse operations.

  1. Warm-up activity (10 minutes)

    • Begin the class by asking students to solve the following problem: If Tim has 24 apples and wants to share them equally among 4 friends, how many apples would each friend get? Allow students to share their answers and discuss their strategies.

  2. Introduction to the topic (10 minutes)

    • Start a discussion about multiplication and division as inverse operations. Ask students to define both terms and explain how they are related.

    • Provide examples of multiplication and division problems and ask students to identify which operation was used to solve each problem.

  3. Group activity: Multiplication and division game (20 minutes)

    • Divide the class into small groups and provide each group with a set of multiplication and division cards.

    • Instruct students to take turns selecting a card and solving the problem on it. They should discuss and explain their answers to their group members.

    • Encourage students to use mental math strategies and share their thinking with the group.

  4. Wrap-up (5 minutes)

    • Ask each group to share one problem they solved and explain how they used multiplication and division to find the solution.

Session 2: Multiplying and Dividing Fractions (45 minutes)

Objective: Students will be able to solve word problems involving multiplication of fractions by a natural number.

  1. Review (5 minutes)

    • Begin the class by reviewing the relationship between multiplication and division.

    • Ask students to solve a simple multiplication problem
