Session 1:
Objective: Introduce the topic of creating and exchanging reviews of different texts and/or audiovisuals using connectors to support arguments.


Warm-up activity (10 minutes):



  • Begin the class by discussing the importance of sharing opinions and supporting them with reasons.

  • Show a short video clip or read a short story related to a topic familiar to the students, such as a movie or a book.

  • Ask students to share their opinions on the video clip or story, and ask them to provide reasons for their opinions.


Introduction to the topic (10 minutes):



  • Explain that in this project, students will have the opportunity to create and exchange reviews of different texts and/or audiovisuals with their classmates.

  • Emphasize the importance of using connectors like "because," "since," "due to," etc., to support their arguments.


Mini-lesson on connectors (10 minutes):



  • Provide a list of connectors on the board and explain their meanings and usage.

  • Give examples of sentences using these connectors to support opinions.

  • Have students practice using the connectors by creating their own sentences.


Activity (15 minutes):



  • Divide the class into small groups and provide each group with a text or audiovisual material (e.g., a book, a movie, or a TV show clip).

  • In their groups, students will watch/read the material and discuss their opinions on it, using the connectors learned.

  • Each group will create a short review of the material, focusing on supporting their opinions with reasons and using connectors.


Wrap-up (5 minutes):



  • Have each group share their reviews with the class.

  • Encourage students to ask questions and engage in a discussion about the different revie
