The teacher explains to the students:
- The corn was found later on in the Americas, from Chile to Canada. Although the conquerors failed to realize it, this native American golden grain was more important for the world than all the gold and silver from Mexico and Peru.
- Currently no country in Latin America that do not sow corn.
- Maize is, with beans, the staple food in the country of Mexico and Central America.
