DEFINITIONS OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

A reading comprehension activity for students to identify the description of musical instruments

1. Download the file and make copies for students.

2. This is a good activity that you can use for different purposes.

3. Distribute the worksheet and read the example about ‘the drum’.

4. Help with vocabulary as needed and ask students to start a vocabulary list for musical instruments in their notebooks.

5. Read the description of the musical instrument and ask students to complete it with the name that is represented with a picture.

6. Do the same procedure with the rest of the instruments.

7. Ask students to read aloud the descriptions and help with pronunciation as needed.

8. Finally, read the descriptions at random and ask students to tell you what instrument that is.
