A speaking activity for students to read some unsolved mysteries and make deductions about them
Sugerencia de uso
1. Download the file and make copies for students. You may want to give each student a case so consider the number of copies you are going to need. Cut the cards beforehand.
2. Ask students if they know any unsolved mysteries and what they are about.
3. Tell students they are going to read the unsolved mystery you are going to hand out for them to read.
4. Give the cards at random and give students time to ask questions about vocabulary, for example.
5. Set a time limit and monitor the activity.
6. When time is up, ask students to mingle and find someone who has the same story.
7. Ask students to speculate and make deductions about what could have happened.
8. Challenge students to come up with a big number of deductions.
9. Invite pairs of students to find another pair who has the same story and once, again, talk about their deductions and speculations.
