RECORD-BREAKING SKY DIVE

A video for students to listen to a news: record-breaking sky dive

1. Use the beam projector and a set of speakers for students to listen carefully.

2. Tell students they are going to do the second part of the record-breaking news.

3. Ask students to work in pairs and practice again with the same technique to review, WHAT / WHERE / WHO / WHEN / WHY / HOW and review the news.

4. Play the video without sound to help them remember the facts. Check answers.

5. Do exercise 2: gap-fill numbers. Invite pairs of students to come to the front and take turns and answer.

6. Continue with exercise 3: ordering parts of the news report. Show it and ask students to discuss it in pairs, then give you the answers. Contrast and show answers.

7. Show the transcript (if you didn’t do it in the previous session) and play the video for students to follow it now reading as well.

8. Invite students to express their opinion on ‘stunts’, ‘breaking records’, and ‘being famous’.
