1. Download the file suggested in the MED and make copies for students.

2. Review with students the importance of facts to give effective opinions. You may also review what a fact is and what an opinion is.

3. Distribute the template and ask students to read what facts and definitions are.

4. Ask students to work in pairs and think about the topic 'Human Rights'. Let's say they are going to give/write an opinion on what the organization does, means, etc.

5. Ask students to discuss and write the type of facts they would need, from what sources, etc. and how they would give their opinions. Emphasize the fact that they are not actually writing the paper but brainstorming ideas on how to organize the opinion-giving.

6. Ask students to share their work with the class.

1. Download the file suggested in the MED and make copies for students.

2. Ask students how many times a day they give an opinion on all kinds of things. Ask them to think about home, school, their classmates, etc.

3. Ask students to give you examples to call for an opinion, for example, sports, food, etc. and write the examples on the board.

4. Ask students to work in groups of three and distribute the worksheet.

5 Ask students to read the prompts and help with vocabulary if necessary.

6. Tell students to choose a question to ask the members of the team and listen to their opinions.

7. Decide on two questions to write opinions about as a group so make a consensus about the topic.

8. When everybody has agreed on the questions-topics, ask them to start writing a paragraph, and express their opinions in favor of or against including reasons and justifications.

9. Invite groups to read their paragraphs to the class.

2. Ask students if they are used to working with visual organizers and how they can help improve learning.

3. Ask students which other classes they use them for.

5.Make sure they understand how to use it so give them an example and point at the different sections for them to see what information goes in each section.

6. Ask students to work individually this time on the topic, " Garbage problem in my town". Tell students that since they are entitled to give opinions on different matters, they see that their city has problems with garbage recollection and you have good ideas and suggestions for the City Hall.

7. Help students with grammar, vocabulary, and maybe ideas on how to be developed.

8. Tell students this format is only to help them organize their ideas so they can see the difference between giving an opinion based on reasons and supporting information.

9. Invite students to exchange their organizers with other students and discuss how they see the problem and what their ideas are.

10. Ask students to give you some of the reasons they wrote on the topic and make list on the board for students to see how many and how different those can be.

11. Ask students to explain how they can be elaborated so they are the foundations of an opinion.

12. Have a class discussion.
