1. Download the files suggested in the MED section and make copies for students.

2. Ask students how many words related to theater or drama they remember from previous work in their textbooks in class.

3. Try the word ‘drama’ and ask students for its definition.

4. Distribute the worksheet and read the definition asking students to concentrate on the underlined words. Then, compare the paragraph to the ideas you have on the board.

5.  Ask students to work on the next exercise to match the drama words to their definitions.

6. In order to check answers, read the above paragraph, and make a pause right after the underlined words for students to fit the definition there and continue reading until all the definitions have been used/given as part of the paragraph.

7. Ask students to work with exercise B in pairs. Suggest they read and discuss first the words that describe the examples.

8. Check answers with the class by asking students to share what they wrote.

9. Have students work in pairs and take turns to talk about 'creative drama' by giving sentences. They can use the definitions, the words, or their personal experiences.

9. Distribute the worksheet and ask students to read the words at the bottom of the page.

10. Help with vocabulary and give examples of how the words are used in a sentence to make students understand their function and how they can use them when describing events, talking about plays, or working in groups about theater.

11. Set a time limit and when the time I up, as students to work in pairs and complete their word searches. 

12. Ask students to group and put these words into three different groups to present to the class and justify their reasons to do so. Try to work with this activity in class, since it triggers critical thinking and helps students to see the many different uses of learning vocabulary.

13. Ask students to share their group's names and have the class give opinions.

2. Ask students who read the book and /or watched the movie “The Three Little Pigs” and what feelings they experienced as kids with it.

3. Discuss what they prefer, watching the movie, or attending the play at a theater and their reasons for that choice.

6. Invite students to work in groups of three and check their answers.

7. Check answers with the whole class and pay special attention to the events in the correct sequence.

8. Ask students to retell the story in their groups by taking turns and using their own words and expressions. Then, ask students to add one more event and share it with the class.

9. Ask students to work in pairs and group the words into 2 big groups they decide, you can suggest, “acting, or production, etc.”

10. Students need to make sure they know the words and justify why they decided on those two groups.

11. When students have their groups, ask them to give you the names and write them on the board.

12. Compare and contrast names for students to see what context this vocabulary can be used with.

13. Ask students to search the words but set a time limit.

1. Download the files suggested in the MED section and make copies for students. The first file (Dialogues) has 2 pages to print per student.

2. Ask students what a dialogue in a drama is and what they think is needed to write an effective one.

3. Elicit from students the importance of punctuation marks in writing and especially in pay scripts.

4. Distribute the worksheets and ask students to read the definition of ‘dialogue’. 

5. Ask students to practice writing dialogues and using quotation marks (“  “) with 1,2, and 3 . Remind them of the importance of using the appropriate punctuation marks to give sentences the effect they need.

6. Choose students at random to read their dialogues and have the class listen to them. They cannot interrupt but wait for their turn if they want to share theirs.

7. Ask students to describe where they put quotation marks.

8. Ask students to work in pairs to write the dialogues for activity 4. They need to discuss and decide on the best lines to say about the zoo school trip.

9. Invite pairs to exchange their dialogues and get feedback from them.

10. Review with students what ‘genres’ are. This is a term they have probably worked in 'Español' before so they must be familiar with it. 

11. Distribute the worksheet about genres and ask students to label the genres according to the pictures.

12. Ask students which one their favorites are and mention an example (movie, tv-show, play).

13. Read the sentences which are the definitions of genres in exercise 2 and have students give the answers.

14. Ask students to answer exercise three in pairs and help with vocabulary as needed.

15. Choose a genre at random, for example, ‘COMEDY’ and have students brainstorm ideas, that is, say as many different things they can about it, not necessarily complete sentences.
