1. Have the beam projector ready to show the video suggested in the MED section for the first activity, as for the second one, download the file and print the black and white page for students.

2. Students are going to be given a couple of topics for this session in order to practice giving or preparing a presentation. The idea is that you give the topic and they make an outline, something very basic, to plan a presentation. Start with the video, this is a very well-produced animated video about the history of the Spanish language for students to watch.

3. Ask students what they know about the origin of their native language, Spanish.

5. Play the video and make pauses to make comments and answer questions students may have.

10. Tell students they are going to read a text about it but with the only purpose to know about superstitions that could be related to the superstitions our culture also has about the Day of the Death, for example. Make clear that you respect their postures and ideas but this is a reading practice.

11. Distribute the worksheet and tell students they are going to prepare a presentation on that topic and this is the material they have so they need to choose pieces of information, write questions, and think about visuals to go with it.

12. Read with students and ask them to work in pairs and prepare the information, in a simple way, nothing complicated. You may also want to read the first paragraph, work with comprehension questions, and leave the rest for homework so students can work at their own pace and rhythm, but make sure they understand what they have to do, get some information for an outline on giving a presentation about that topic.

13. Ask students to share their ideas, notes, and structure of their presentation to the class, if time allows.
