1. Have the beam projector ready to show the video and the activity suggested in the MED section.

2. Tell students they are going to work with classic tales with different activities so start by asking them what their favorite story is/was when they were little, and take this as a cultural opportunity to talk about the names of the stories, the countries, the authors, etc.

3.Talk about what a fairy tale is.

4. Tell students this is a fun video to review vocabulary related to ‘fairy tales’ for them to learn/review.

5. Play the video and practice the story by reading it. Then, ask them to write down the basic vocabulary presented to talk about tales.

6. Stop the video at 3:25. These first three minutes are the ones that are going to give you material to work.

7. Ask students to work in pairs and retell the tale to each other making sure they included all the vocabulary presented.

8. Project the video and ask some volunteers to tell the story and include some gestures or 'sound effects' if possible.

9. Draw students’ attention towards the six characters on top of the page and ask them to name them.

10. You may ask students to match the character to the title of the story in the exercise.

11. Ask students to complete the stories with the words in the box by writing the answers in their notebooks.

12. Check answers by asking students to read the complete paragraphs while the rest of the class listen and correct if necessary.

13. Now, ask students to copy the paragraphs in their notebooks.

14. Choose a title from the exercise and ask students to retell the story. Encourage them not to read everything but to try to produce more original language

1. Download the files of the suggested activities in the MED section for students to work with two more classic tales.

2. Distribute the worksheet and draw students’ attention towards the picture of the princess and ask them who that is, ‘HANSEL AND GRETEL’.

3. Ask students if they ever read the story and what they think about it.

4. If they read the story, ask students to give you three different events in the story they remember. Tell students not to read from the worksheet.  

5. Ask students to work in groups of three to work with the story.

6. Ask students to read the 8 boxes with information about the tale and sequence them 1-8.

7. Monitor and help as needed with vocabulary.

8. Check answers by asking students at random to give you their numbers 1-8. If there are inconsistencies, tell the class to just listen because you will give the right answers later.

9. Ask students to retell the story in their groups without reading, trying to use their ideas and vocabulary only.

10. Distribute the second worksheet and ask students to name other characters in the story (dwarfs, witch, prince, etc.)

11. Start with the ‘circle the correct choice’ exercise so ask students to read the sentences and raise their hand to give you their answer. Help with vocabulary as needed.

12. Ask students to read the statements to practice telling a story.

13. Continue with exercise ‘ write true/false’ and repeat the procedure as in the section above.

14. Work with the WH_questions orally and help with sentence structure.

15. Ask students to work in pairs and choose information from the three sections to talk for one minute about ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’.

1. Download the files suggested in the MED section and make copies for students.  You will also need, rolling dice and tokens (counters) of different colors.

2. Tell students they are going to revise more classic tales and practice with them so find out what classic tale the whole class knows, for example, "Little Red Riding Hood" and ask them to tell you events they remember. They do not need in chronological order.

3. Show students how much information they could put together about the story.

4. Tell students they are going to play a board game about Fairy Tales.

5. Two children can play at a time. Children need to roll the dice and move as per the number on the dice.

6. At each square, he/ she checks the word and has to say two things related to the word connected to the fairy tale. The first to reach the END is the winner. 

7.Finally, by the end of the game the winning player should reach the END by getting the exact number on his dice throw.

8. Choose some of these cues and ask students at random to complete them individually.
