1.  Download the files suggested in the MED and make copies for students.

2. Tell students they are going to discuss traveling alone vs. traveling in groups.

3. Ask students if they would like to travel alone, where, and why.

4. Distribute the worksheet and ask students to classify the activities shown in ‘alone’ and ‘groups’. Check answers.

5. Then, ask students to work in pairs and discuss the pros and cons of each picture as traveling alone vs traveling in groups or vice-versa.

6. Offer help as needed.

7. Invite pairs of students to share some of their answers and welcome some other opinions students want to discuss

8. Distribute the worksheet and draw students’ attention towards the vocabulary. Help as necessary.

1. Download the files suggested in the MED and make copies for students. They are going to practice reading and discussing information about trips based on the pros and cons.

2. Tell students they are going to start with a fun activity about making plans for a holiday.

3. Give each student a corresponding A or B worksheet and tell the students not to show their worksheet to their partner.

4. Write the categories from the worksheet on the board and elicit the questions the students need to ask. Example: Justin

·       Holiday destination: Where is Justin going on holiday?

·       Transportation: How is he getting there?

·       Departure date: When is he leaving?

·       Length of stay: How long is he going to stay there?

·       Accommodation: Where is he going to stay?

·       Planned activities: What is he planning to do?

5. In their pairs, the students then complete the missing information about the four people's holiday plans by asking and answering

questions with 'going to' and the present continuous.

6. When the students have finished, they compare worksheets to check their answers.

7. Students then use the six questions to ask their partner about their holiday plan.

8. Ask students how many different words they remember related to the theme ‘travel’. Challenge students to say aloud as many words. as they can think of

9. Distribute the worksheet and ask students to read the questions and choose the correct answer.

10. Do not offer help this time since it is a quiz to check not only vocabulary but reading comprehension as well.

11. Set a time limit and when time is up, ask students the questions and have volunteers to share their answers with the class.

12. If some students make mistakes, wait for the class to correct and give the right answer.

1. Download the file and make copies for students. This activity is long and can be modified according to your class conditions, however, the instructions are given to be played in groups.

2. Divide the class into two groups A and B, or in pairs but make some adjustments then.

3. Give each student a corresponding A or B worksheet.

4 Working with the people in their group, students use the question words in the box to complete the holiday conversation questions on the worksheet.

5. When the students have finished, go through the answers with each group.

6. The answers are in the suggested file.

7. Ask students to report what other students had to say and discuss the pros and cons of some of those situations.

8. Students will use the worksheet with the information about holiday plans using WH_ or Yes/No questions.

9. Students then pair up with someone from the other group.

10. The students take it in turns to ask and answer the questions with their partner.

11. Encourage the students to ask follow-up questions when possible to gain more information.

12. When everyone has finished, ask the students to give feedback to the class on what they found out about their partner. Any interesting findings can be discussed in more detail.
