1. Download the file suggested in ‘Materiales Educativos Digitales’ and have the beam projector ready to do the ‘shark quiz’ with students.

2. Ask students what other sea animals they know and write them on the board.

3. Ask students WH__ questions about those animals and emphasize the WH_.

4. Ask students how much they know about sharks.

5. Tell them they are going to take a quiz on sharks to find out more about them.

6. You can ask 10 volunteers to come to the front of the class and take each one a question to answer or you can show the quiz and have everybody call out the answers.

7. Invite students to write statements about sharks using the given information in the quiz.

8. Ask students how much they learned about sharks and elicit some sentences.

9. Ask students this question,  Why is Luis tired? And wait for reactions. (In case there’s a Luis in the classroom, ask him to come to the front of the class and look tired)

10. Elicit ‘because’ and get different answers from students.

11. Hand out the worksheet and ask students to work individually.

12. Read the 16 statements and ask students to change them into ‘Why….?’

check their answers with another classmate.

1. Have the beam projector ready to project the  video and the activity suggested activity in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales”    

2. Ask students if they have noticed how different pronunciation is in , ‘Are you ok?’ and ‘Where are you from?’

3. Explain to students that ‘intonation’ is a very important feature in learning another language.

4. Decide how much of the video you want to show since there are sections you may not want to use.

5. Play the video and pause it where the curves are presented and ask students to copy them in their notebooks.

6. Ask students to read aloud the sentences in the video and some more you can write on the board.

1. Have the beam projector ready show the video  suggested story in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales”  and download the file to make copies for students, as well.

2. Show the picture of ‘Torre Latinoamericana’ in Mexico City or any other tower.

3. Tell students to figure out how the can ask a question in order to find out how HIGH it is.

4. Tell students they are going to learn /review a very useful phrase: How + adjective.

5. Use a beam projector to show the presentation. You decide how much information you want to give students so select the slides.

6. You may want to review ’adjectives’ first and then show the presentation.

7.  Show the presentation and make pauses to comment and give time for students to take notes.

8. Ask students to give you some examples by thinking of an interesting topic they like.

9. Invite students to share their ‘How + adjective questions’.
