1.Have the beam projector ready to show the video suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section and download the file to make copies for students.

2. Tell students they are going to work with different signs.

3. Read with the students the different places on top of each sign.

4. Ask students to write the rule that corresponds to each sign.

5. Help with grammar and vocabulary as needed.

6. Invite students to exchange worksheets with another classmate and read their rules.

7. Tell students they should also check how different the rules are in terms of grammar.

8. Ask students to sit with another pair and compare their rules, are they the same or different?

9. Ask students if they have ever been to an art museum and which one it was.

10. Play the video and suggest students read the subtitles.

11. Ask students if we are allowed to run and play in a museum.

12. Lead students to tell you that speaking that loud is not allowed.

13. Ask students to think of the rules and signs to place in the museum.

14. Play the rest of the video up to 2:20 and check with students if there are more activities not allowed.

1. Download the set of 16 flashcards suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section and have the beam projector ready to show a sign to students.

2 Print as many sets of flashcards as necessary considering that every student will need a card.

3. Ask students to write down the names of 3 places they can see around their house, by the school, on the streets on the way to school.

4. Hand each student a flashcard (picture and name).

5. Ask students to write on the back of each flashcard a sentence for a possible sign to be found in that place.

6. Offer help with grammar as needed.

7. Have some volunteers read their sentences and ask the rest of the class make suggestions on the sentences

8. Ask students to get together with other students who happen to have the same place card and compare their sentences.

9. Tell students they will look at a sign found in a park with a list of ‘things they are not allowed to do”.

10. Project the sign and ask students to read the information.

11. Help with vocabulary.

12.. Discus each one of the rules with students and paraphrase them so they fully understand what they mean.

13 . Ask students to think of at least two more rules to follow when going to the park and write them on the board.

14. Discuss with students if these

rules would apply to all parks or not.

15. Ask students to get together in groups of five so each member will draw a sign from the park rules.

8. Ask each group to present their signs and ask the rest of the class to say if the signs represent what the sentences say.

2.  Download the file suggested as well and make copies for students.

3. Ask students to close their eyes, listen to you say the name of a sign and tell you what color that sign is (stop, don’t touch, pedestrians, walk, etc.)

4. Show the signs poster and tell students they are going to review signs and words.

5. Ask students to work in pairs and sit together.

6. Draw students’ attention towards the left column with names of signs. If they have any questions, tell them to wait so they can get the answers by elimination.

7. Invite students to write the words in their notebooks and do the exercise by writing only the number next to the words.

8. Ask students to sit with another pair of students and check their answers.

9. Ask students to practice the names of signs by challenging each other, student A says the name of the sign, student B says the color of the sign, etc.

10. Tell students they are going to review some vocabulary about safety and the importance of following rules and instructions.

11. Ask students how many traffic signs they remember.

12. Distribute the worksheet and ask students to read the words. Help with vocabulary as needed.

13. Set a time limit for students to do the activity and check answers.

14. Invite students to work in pairs and write 3 sentences using 2 of these words each. Help with grammar and vocabulary as needed.
