Repeat the words several times for students to 'picture' the sound in their ears and head rather than their spelling. 7. Ask students to circle the word in the boxes that correspond to the picture, and then, circle other words that have the same sound. You may help students by reading the words for them to identify easily. Do not worry about meanings now, the activity is for them to discriminate sounds. 8. Read the 'picture' on the left and elicit from students the words that have the same sound/pronunciation. 9. Ask students to read the words aloud to other classmates and spell them as well. |

Elicit from students words that rhyme with 'rain' and make a list of them on the board. Avoid giving explanations on syntax, that is if they are verb, adjectives, etc. 13. Ask volunteers to read the words and practice the sound. 14. Distribute the second page in the activity and ask students to court the drops and paste them to make a family of words that rhyme. 15. Ask students to read the word family several times slowly, then, quickly and have fun. |
