1. Download the files  and make copies for students of the activities suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales”.

2. Tell students they are going to review vocabulary: places in the city.

3. Ask students to spell, bank, b-a-n-k, store, s-t-o-r-e, etc. up to 5 or 6 words.

4. Draw students’ attention towards the word bank and ask them to choose the name of the places on the same page.

5. Set a time limit and monitor the activity.

6. Invite students who finish first to raise their hand and read their words to the class by spelling the words.

7. Ask students what places in the city they remember (from the previous activity or from the lesson in their textbook).

8. Distribute the worksheet and ask students if those places are in the words at the bottom of the word search.

9. Help with vocabulary as needed and ask students to do the activity.

10. When students finish, ask them to work in groups of three and group the words in categories. Encourage them to discuss and organize the information , i.e., signs in hospitals, on the streets, etc.

1. Have the beam projector ready to show the video and the activity suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section.

2. Show some visuals of different signs ( visuals students have worked with. You can use their textbook) and ask students to ‘read’ them, i.e. a green light > go, etc.

3. Ask students to put those expressions in negative, i.e., ‘don’t go’.

4. Tell students they are going to watch a story and sing a song.

5. Play the video (the story) and ask students to pay attention to the (imperative) sentences, and give some examples, i.e, stand up, open your book, etc.

6. Continue with the song which is a good TPR activity so have students imitate the gestures and sing along.

7. There are more songs and stories in this video, it is recommended that you choose the ones that best suit the needs of your class and your time. However, the third song shows a sign (no swimming) that you can use for the context of reading signs.

8. Invite students to sing one of the rap songs and encourage them to create some moves to go with it.

9. Ask students to mention one sign that is red, one that is blue and one that is green.

10. Ask students if they remember other signs in different colors from the ones you mentioned.

11. Invite students to do the activity mentally, that is, from their seats look at the signs and try to remember what color they are.

12. Invite some volunteers to come to the front and drag the color from the right to the middle column.

14. When the colors have been taken click on ‘terminado’ and wait for reactions.

15. If you consider it necessary and good practice, try a second round of the same activity.

16.Tell students to work in groups of three and  draw a sign for the classroom and color it ‘purple’  . Discuss what it would be about and invite students to present it to the class.
