Ask students what community signs they remember and write them on the board. 3. Tell students they are going to watch a video that shows different signs for them to draw and label in their notebooks. |

Desarrollo | 00:25 | 4. The video takes 15 minutes and shows many different signs. I t is recommended that you choose the groups of signs students have been working with or are new or seen in their community. You can forward the video and continue with other signs. 5. Make pauses for students to draw their pictures and monitor. 6. Say the names for the signs you chose and ask students to point at the sign in their notebooks. 7. Invite students to sit in pairs and talk about their signs and what they mean. |

Cierre | 00:15 | 8. Review quickly by pointing randomly at the signs they already know. Choose 1 or 2 new signs and tell students they are going to learn them with this exercise. 9. Ask students to work in pairs and tell them they need to read the sign, then, click and choose the answer. You may want to read the options for students since they may not read fluently in English or do not recognize the words but they may remember the word. 10. Ask students to draw the new signs and add them to the list they started with the previous activity in this session. 11. Have a second round with different pairs of students and repeat the activity.

Inicio | 00:10 | 1.Download the files and make copies of the suggested activities in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section and have the beam projector ready for the second activity. 2. Download the file and print the cards (16 cards = 8 pairs of signs). Print the number of sets of cards depending on the number of students you have. 3. Cut the cards and invite students to work in groups of 4. Ask students to draw, only draw (no words) the signs you ‘dictate’, ‘stop’, ‘danger’, ‘silence’, and two more to have 5 pictures. 5. Invite students to exchange their pictures with another student and ‘read’ the signs. |

Desarrollo | 00:25 | 6. Hand each group a set of cards and ask them to mix them up and place them face down on the desks or on the floor. 7. Tell students this is a memory game, like the one they play in Spanish: Students turn one card over, then another and if they match, they them in a pile and score one point. If they don’t match, the cards must be turned over and the next student goes. 8. Monitor the activity and offer help as needed. You may also take the opportunity to teach a couple of expressions such as, ‘my turn’, ‘I am next’, etc. 9. Do a second round and ask students to change teams so they have the opportunity to play with different students. |
