1. Have the beam projector ready to show the activity suggested in the MED section, and as for the second activity, download the file and make copies for students.

2. In this session, students will be presented with two different formats to write about experiments. The focus of the activity is that students make sense of the process of reporting, of writing sentences in sequence. The reports don't have to be a long one, with 2 or 3 sentences will be enough.

3. Tell students they are going to write a recipe so brainstorm some ideas of food they know are easy to make. Even if they haven’t made it, they know how to because they have seen their moms.

4. Model the activity by giving an example, copy the format on the board and write in the ‘name of the recipe’ QUESADILLAS or HAM SANDWICH, something simple.

Desarrollo 00:10

5. Ask students to give you the ingredients for quesadillas, for example, and write them down.

6. Now, get into the activity by asking students to copy the format in their notebooks and think of the name of their recipe. If you see this is 'difficult' for them, let them use 'quesadillas' , 'a sandwich', and suggest 'a torta, ' a taco', etc.

7. Guide students through the activity, continue with the list of ingredients, then the instructions.

8. Keep it simple all the way through so students feel confident with the process.

9. Ask students to work in pairs and share their recipes with their classmates.

10. Review some of the experiments done along with the unit (weeks 32 and 33) or the ones in their textbooks and talk about them.

11. Distribute the worksheet and read “Interesting facts”.

12. This is a good writing exercise for students to work on conclusions, results, etc.

13. Use one of the experiments to model the activity, (CD experiment from week 32, session 3), for example, and write a sentence for the interesting fact, “ The CD flies with a balloon”.

14. Monitor the activity and offer help as needed.

15. Ask students to read their interesting facts to the class.

1. Download the files for the activities suggested in the MED section and make copies for students.

2. In this session, students will write short reports about experiments they have worked with.

3. Distribute the worksheet and help them with ideas about how to write the report. For that purpose write some 'stem sentences' that can help, i.e.,  This is the picture of------. This is the list of materials/ ingredients, etc.

4. Distribute the worksheet and ask students to complete the format with the name of the experiment and the materials they used. You may want to help them choose one of the experiments or use any other they know other classes.

5. Ask students to draw a picture that represents the experiment.

6. Model some sentences they could use in their reports for the WHAT I DID section, students can number the steps.

7. Talk about the WHAT I DISCOVERED section and help with short and simple sentences they can write in that section.

8. Ask students to swap their reports with other students and read them.

7. Model some sentences they could use in their reports for the WHAT I DID section, students can number the steps.

8. Talk about the WHAT I DISCOVERED section and help with short and simple sentences they can write in that section.
