4. Tell students they are going to watch a video that shows places in a community and what activities you can do there.

5. Show the video but pause it so students can see the whole map and the icons it shows.  6. Ask students what places they can identify by reading the icon.

7. Play the video and tell students they will see words in different colors (blue / red / black) and identify what color it is used to refer to the place.

8. Model the first place ‘library’. Then, ask students to repeat after you ‘library’, ‘borrow books’ and then, the complete sentence.

9. Make pauses for students to repeat and help with pronunciation as needed.

10. Play the video again and choose volunteers and places at random for them to practice forming sentences as modeled.

11. Ask students to copy in their notebooks the sentences using the different colors and sit in pairs to talk about those places by reading sentences to each other.

12. Show the map of the community presented in the first part of the session with the video and point at two different places by asking, “Where’s the hospital?” which happened to be in front of each other or close so students can notice you are talking about the distance.

13. Tell students they are going to watch some pictures (slides) about places and will learn to talk about where they are.

14. Show the first slide, “The cat is between the dogs.” Read it for students and ask a volunteer to repeat it with you.

15. Invite students to draw the scenes and write the sentences.

16. Read the sentences aloud and make mistakes on purpose to see students’ reactions and correct you.

17. Ask some volunteers, 3, to come to the board at the same time and draw one of the sentences from the presentation.

18. Ask the rest of the class to read the sentences and confirm if the drawings represent (between, behind, etc.)
