1. Download the files of the suggested activities in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” and download and make copies for students.

2. Challenge students by writing on the board different numbers, cardinal, ordinal, ordinal, cardinal, cardinal, etc, and ask them to read them and say if they are ordinal or cardinal.

3.  Distribute the worksheet and ask students to classify the sentences under O (ordinal) and C (cardinal).

4. Read the sentences for students and wait for them to answer. Ask students do not say the answers aloud since they are going to play a game later on.

5. Ask students to work in groups of three and take turns reading a sentence chosen at random for the team to say O or C.

6. Ask each group to think of two sentences, one using a cardinal and another using an ordinal number to challenge another group.

7. Monitor the activity and make sure students are participating.

8.  Chose some students at random and ask them, what’s your name? what’s your last name? do you have a middle name?

9. Review the alphabet and ask students to spell some words at random as well as their names.

10.  Distribute the worksheet and tell students they are going to write their name and identify the ordinal position of each letter. Model the activity by using your name, for example, PABLO, P is first, A is second, B is third, L is fourth, O is fifth, PABLO.

11. Ask students to do their first name and middle name and monitor the activity.

12.  Invite students to share their answers with the class by reading their names.

13. Ask students to continue with their last names.

14. Invite some volunteers to share with the class their last names and help as needed.

2. Ask students to read the ordinal numbers you write on the board. Write at least ten of them and make sure you include numbers and words as well.

3. Distribute the worksheet and draw students’ attention to the first line of animals for them to point and say the ordinal number they take in a sequence.

4. Read the sentence ‘IF THE FISH IS THE FIRST ANIMAL….and do 1) as a model.

5. Invite students to complete the exercise 2) to 5) and check answers.

6. Ask students to color the animals according to the instructions. You may want to read the sentences for students and wait for them to color.

7. Ask students to work in pairs and draw 3 toys with similar sentences to the ones in the worksheet.

8. Tell students they are going to complete the sequence of ordinal numbers by completing with the missing numbers.

9. Distribute the worksheet and ask students to write in pencil in case they need to erase something.

10. Monitor the activity and offer help as needed.

11. Invite students at random to read the numbers they wrote and ask the rest of the class to confirm.

12. Ask students to rewrite the missing numbers in red by using a marker or a colored pencil.

13. Invite students to get in groups of three and choose some numbers to dictate their classmates.

14. Write on the board some 5 ordinal numbers misspelled for students to correct.
