Inicio 00:05 1. Have the “Free discussions- topics to be debated” list suggested in the “Recursos” section ready to show to students. 2. Tell students that for the following three sessions, they will work in the development of a project called “Round Table” where they will be able to discuss and express their opinions about a specific topic. 3. Organize students in groups of four or five students.

Desarrollo 00:25 4. Show students the “Free discussions- topics to be debated” list using a projector so all students can see it and go over the list reading the different topics included in it. 5. Once students have reviewed the all the topics, ask them to choose 5 of them and then have them vote for the one topic they will develop their project on. 6. Divide the teams, so half of the group is “for” the topic and the other half is “against” it.

Cierre 00:30 7. Give students the last 30 minutes in class to work on their project. Walk around monitoring their work and help them if necessary.

Tell students this worksheet will help them in the development of their product and make their opinions clearer. 5. Encourage students to complete the worksheet with the necessary information once the group has decided on a topic for the round table discussion.

Before students present their projects and participate in the round table, show them the rubric you will use to assess their work and go over each aspect in it so they know what they are expected to do. 3. Clarify any doubts if necessary before so there is not any confusion. 4. Use the rubric to assess students’ performance as they are taking part in the round table discussion.

Cierre 00:40 5. Once students have reached a conclusion after discussing the selected topic in the round table, have them share their personal and team experiences with the rest of the class.
