Give away the photocopies and read the introduction and the instructions aloud and make sure they understand what to do. 5. Have volunteers work individually and ask them to read the text in silence once and ask them some general questions about it. 6. Give students enough time to solve the exercise and once they finish have them work with a partner to compare their work.

Tell students that prefixes and suffixes help us form new words and that sometimes they have specific meanings, have them give you some examples in Spanish, for them to see the similarities and for the topic to be more clear. 4. Project the “Word Parts” lesson on the board using the projector for all students to see and read clearly. 5. Read the introduction and make sure students identify the root words. Clarify any possible doubts. 6. Go over the tables to analyze them and have some volunteers read the contents. 7. Ask students to copy both tables in their notebooks. Once students finish, have them add two more examples for each category. 8. Click on the links for students to practice finding other words that use prefixes and suffixes.
