Desarrollo 00:35 3. Elicit from students the names and symbols of the punctuation marks they know and have them tell you the way they use them. 4. Ask students to prepare a sheet of paper for them to write their answers to the questions in the exercise. 5. Show students the Web site on the board using the projector and read each of the questions in the “Punctuation – Quiz”, give students enough time to read the answers and to write it on their papers. 6. Once students finish, ask some volunteers to read their answers aloud and mark it on the website. Click the “Check score” button at the bottom of the page and have students to grade their answers.

Cierre 00:20 7. Click the “Read” icon and review the punctuation rules and ask students to take notes in their notebooks. 8. Have students work in pairs and ask them to make a chart where they include the punctuation marks, their functions, uses and one example of each. Walk around and monitor their work.

Evaluación Assess students' oral and written expression levels: • Students are able to identify and describe the different types and functions of punctuation marks. • Students are able to write meaningful and complete sentences with the appropriate punctuation mark. • Students have enough vocabulary that allows them to build complete and meaningful sentences using the punctuation marks correctly.

Desarrollo 00:35 3. Tell students the exercise they are about to do contains all kinds of punctuation marks. Project the Web site on the board for all students to see it using the projector. 4. Organize students in teams of three or four and ask them to have a piece of paper ready to write their answers. 5. Focus students’ attention on exercise 1 and ask them to read the four sentences and to choose the one that is correctly punctuated with the members of their teams. 6. Have students write down their answers on the piece of paper and continue with the rest of the exercises.

Have some volunteers read the three main uses of apostrophes and provide some other examples. 5. Go on the next section and read each of the examples. Make sure to clarify any doubts students may have. 6. Ask students to copy the sentences from the exercise in their notebooks and to work individually to solve it. 7. Once they finish, check their answers as a group by having some volunteers pass to the front to write their answers.
