Desarrollo 00:40 Let Ss know they need to prepare for the Spelling contest!! sostarting now, 35 wordsfrom their lists need to be chosen and studied.5’ Start by choosing one word and spell it using the secret code. 5’ Prepare a mock spelling contest practicing with those 35 words. Give each S a number. Choose the first five contestants to go to the front of the classroom to participate. T, says a word, S who doesn’t spell the word correctly goes back to his/her seat. 20’ Tell Ss the next session an eliminatory will take place. The last five standing students will be the ones participating in the final spelling bee competition. T, have invitations ready to share with the Ss. Give one to each one of them.Ss have to write whatever needed on them. Desarrollo 00:40 Ss have to choose today the S who is going to welcome everybody to the Spelling Bee contest next session. Have him/ her practice. 5’ Start the contest until you get 5 contestants ready for the final next session. 15’ to 20’ depending on the size of your class. T, have ready the Spelling Bee certificates. Link in the Recursos column. T, have 5 extra words in case you need them to find a winner. Let Ss know these 5 words and have them practice all together by jumping with every letter from all the words. 10’ to 15’ depending on the difficulty of the words you choose. Desarrollo 00:40 Today we are having the Spelling Bee contests S, who is given the welcome to the class guest, takes his position. Set up contestant’s places to participate at the front of the classroom. T, introduce the presenter. Guest, take their places with the rest of the class. T, start the contest; don’t forget to offer contestants to use the word in a sentence if needed. All of these activities will be about 30’. Awards ceremony 5’ Ss show their secret code to their personal guest and they spell their secret word for them.
