T, let Ss know they are going to produce their own magazine or newspaper, this will be a team work and it will have to be finished by the end of the session. They will have to include one of the news from the newspaper they read yesterday. Ss will have 25’ to finish. 5. T, remind Ss they have worked with the magazine with the chicken and thousand vegetables article. The anchor kids as well as the newspaper from the last session. |

Ask your Ss to show you their finish newspapers from the last session. Review that the layout of the final product is correct; the headline resumes the content of the article. Review grammar, and make sure Ss wrote a journalistic note using the correct order of the sentence. T, save most of your feedback bout the Ss work until after the next exercise. 15’ 4. T, after the work is revised invite Ss to play a computer game. The link appears in the recursos section. 10’ T, scroll down to the middle of the page where it says: “Choose a news story to comment on”. Click on story 1. Some sentences will appear on top of the article. Click on comment. Choose the comment which best fits the headline. Click done. Continue with the next story up to complete all six. 5. T, now write some general guidelines on the board so Ss can follow them to better write their articles on the newspaper. a. The headline has to be clear, informative and concise. It has to give the right amount of information to capture reader’s attention so they continue reading. b. Ss need to follow a model they choose from the newspaper they read. c. There cannot be any spelling mistakes. 6. Talk about this guidelines with your Ss and have them review their work at home. 10’ 7. Ask Ss to bring their work the following session since they will need to choose one article and the media to show it in the classroom walls. They can choose from a newsletter, poster or a newspaper page. 5’ |
