Desarrollo | 00:40 | 2. Ask the Ss if they remember the objective of an interview. Show Ss some interviews from popular magazines and point out good interview questions. Have the children read the brief article “how to do an interview” (the link is in the “recursos” section). Allow Ss to pick a person from the school or the community that they can interview in English. 3. Divide the group in teams. Ask each team to make a list of interview questions. They must define the information they want to obtain from the person they will interview. Work in this manner for 15 minutes. 4. Once the time is up discuss the questions as a class and let the Ss offer feedback to each other. Discuss all the questions the groups have proposed and determine why they are good or not so good for the interview.The class selects 10 to 15 questions. Make sure to have both open and closed questions on the interview. Once the questions have been defined ask the Ss to write the questions on a clean format and leave space for the answers. |

What do you think of school canteen (or cafeteria)? When they finish, B asks A questions e to h. Have the pairs, answer this question: Which questions generated the best answers? T, say to the Ss that closed questions often prompt the short response "Yes" or "No". Sometimes people expand on them, but they don't have to - and it can make for an awkward and not very insightful interview if you end up with a string of one-word answers. 3. Each pairchooses a topic to interview each other about. Ss take it in turns to ask each other as many open questions as they can in a minute.They record the interviews with their tablets, with a voice memo on a cell phone or with a tape recorder. When they have finished, they listen to their interviews. Discuss with the whole class why under pressure, it's not always easy to avoid closed questions. |

With your Ss, design atable or chart to write down the data. The Point out the tendencies to the Ss, the majorities, also the discrepancies. 3. Working together, devise a short survey of 10-15 questions long. In the “recursos” section there is a link to a survey on movies that can be used.Once on the page, Ss must click on the “Movie Survey Activity” link. Make sure every S participates. T, have some Ss write the questions. Check the possible answers for eachquestion and be sure to give closed or multiple option questions with the given answers. |
