Project the first page on the board or if is not possible, print and show to Ss. Explain how they are going to use the data from that page to create a graph and answer a few questions. 10’ Time to play a Graphingfor Treasure game. T, give Ss the corresponding pages from the set to Ss. 4. T, you can make reference to the movie Battleship where at the beginning there are some coordinates to show the location of a new planet and there is the use of coordinates to battle the enemy. 5’ T, make sure the pics from the movie you choose are age appropriate, if you decide to show any that is. This will provide you with a model to present the vocabulary of graphs in case your Ss still need it. 3. T, If your Ss are ready for more vocabulary use the Date Statistics handwriting vocabulary, give 5’for this activity. Take Ss back to the graphs they have worked on and let them know graphs can also be used when collecting travel data. 5’ 4. Give Ss the Going abroad, practice reading a Bar Graph worksheet. One to each Ss. Ss work in pairs. After solving the worksheet Ss ask questions to each other. 10’ 5. Continue with the travelling theme and give Ss the Airport Schedule worksheet. Use the 1st page only; this will be the source from where Ss will collect their data. Draw the following on the board and ask Ss to draw a graph showing: How may airplanes from Arrivals and Departures will be in the Airport between 9:30 and 9: 40 How many between 9:41 and 9:50 How many between 9:51 and 10:01 Ss are free to choose the kind of graph they want to use to complete the job. Allow 10’ for them to solve it. 6.
