Present the following structure by asking Ss the following questions: • What is the color of carrots? • What is the color of hay? • What is the color of grass? Use different color markers for the question words; the verb “to be” and the question mark.10’ Tell Ss these are natural products. There are fruits; vegetables and cereals. 5’ T, explain Ss the process of having avegetable , cereal or a fruit starts with planting a seed. 5’ Show image of two kids planting seeds.Link in the “recursos” column. T, keep the image of the kids on the board. Allow Ss to play the watering game a couple of times. 10’ T, there is a link to a worksheet in the “recursos” column for Ss to fill in the blanks. Please look at it before hand so you can work with the vocabulary. Have Ss fill in the blanks using the words in the worksheet.5’ to 10’ depending on your Ss knowledge of the vocabulary presented in the sheet. There are 13 words to be placed in the blanks. Present the following structures: What do plants need to grow? They need Sun, dirt and water. Use different color markers for the question word, the question mark and the auxiliary. 5’ Ask Ss to take out the materials to grow wheatgrass. They should have the wheat grains, plastic containers. Place the wheat grains in the plastic containers where they’ll be soaking until tomorrow. Do not pour water, Ss will do that at home. Pour the dirt in the containers. Ss will take home the grains ready to be soaked and the dirt placed in the plastic containers. To water the grains when Ss go home, I suggest they do it with a spray bottle to ensure the amount of water is not excessive. 15’

T, present the structure: What is your favorite fruit? What is it’s color? Does it taste good? Remember to use different color markers for the question words, question marks and the auxiliary. Elicit Ss answers for the first question. As Ss answer, write the name of the fruit on the board. 10’ Present the flashcards to them.Link in the “recursos” column. 5’ To help them respond the rest of the questions, model the answers for them: Apples are round red and sweet fruits. Bananas areyellow, long and sweet. 5’ Write the answers for Ss to read. 5’ Refer back to the Planting process worksheet. Help Ss look for the new words form the worksheet in a bilingual dictionary. 10’ Go over the planting process again and point out the fact that at the end of the cycle, Ss would have; apples, bananas, lemon etc, etc. 5’ Ss need to leave all their worksheets in the classroom.
