The rules of the Classroom

Desarrollo 00:00 2. T writes all the classroom/school rules (old and new) on the board using different color markers for upper and lowercase, question words etc, as done before. Rules don’t need to be in order. Lead in activity. 3. Class works in teams. Team chooses a rule from the board and then “acts” the rule so the rest of the group can guess what the rule is. The team with more correct guesses wins.10’. 4. When the game is over T asks Ss to think of a consequence of not following the rules. 5. Ss respond. T presents video 5 "Little monkeys". 6. This video can be used as a listening exercise which will give you an opportunity to review numbers, pronunciation, when students sing along as well as safety. Play song and then ask students to try to sing along. 10’. T, this is also an opportunity to work with rhyming in a non explicit way. Planning. 7. T asks Ss to think of different formats in which they can write the school/ classroom rules on a cartulina and to think of places where the rules can be placed in the classroom and then places to show them and share them with the rest of the school. T shows a previously made sign with one or several rules written on it. Ss decide in the best way to write the rules and the best places to show them. Ss perhaps will have to ask for permission from the school principal to place the signs, this is the time to practice with the structure may I/we____________. Ss bring the necessary material to create their cartulina signs for next class. They can color and use stickers as well. 10’. Five little monkeys

This activity may take between 10’ but no more than 15 ‘depending on the size and skill of your group. 3. Lead in activity. Class works in teams. Take out their material to produce their cartulinas with rules. Remember this should be one per team. If the class is less than 10 Ss then you can expect one per S. 4. Ss produce their posters and ask permission from the school principal to place them in the school. 15’ to 20’. This is the time to practice with the structure may I/we____________. 5. T presents video 5 "Little monkeys". Class talks about consequences of not following rules e.g. no jumping on the bed. 6. Play song and then ask students to try to sing along. 5’ to10’. Desarrollo 00:00 2. T shows a computer game. Explain: Ss need to click on Pre-Primer and then GO. Letters will appear on the top of the screen. This letters will not follow an order. On the bottom of the screen the word HINT in the middle of other two words. Click on HINT and then write the letters as they are shown to form a word. They will work with the first 15 words. This activity may take between 10’ but no more than 15 ‘depending on the size and skill of your group. The whole 39 to 40 words in this exercise are: jump, yellow, and, my, big, it, come, for, go , find, not, is, play, where, see, I, we, in, said, make, the, help, blue, me, you, up, here, three, red, funny, look, two, down, to, run, away, little, run, one, a. This game has exercises from K to 3rd grade. Please feel free to choose a different game, according to the skill level of the group you work with. 3. Ss bring out their posters/signs and review the spelling of the words. After reviewing they place their posters and signs in the classroom and school. 25’. Spelling practice
